Mark / Shark

very band has that one member who makes everything click — and for STIFLE, that's Sharkus.
You know him as Mark, but on stage he's Sharkus — and once you hear him play, you'll understand why the name sticks. When he joined the STIFLE family 20 years ago, something special happened. His eclectic musical influences — from the country soul of Ronnie Milsap and Mickey Gilley to the timeless artistry of Billy Joel and Elton John — helped shape and expand the "music bible" that drives every STIFLE setlist.
Listen for him in the soaring high harmonies and those captivating keyboard solos that fill the room and give you chills. His setup is no joke either — a Yamaha MOFX 8 keyboard paired with a Roland KC-400 Stage PA and a FocusRite Scarlett 2i2 USB interface for crystal-clear digital mixing. The result? A versatile range of sounds that can shift from classic piano to brass to guitar tones — all from one spot on stage.
But Sharkus doesn't clock out when the show ends. He's the creative force behind STIFLE's CD covers, show posters, and band website, and works with Henry Embroidery and Screenprinting to bring our band apparel to life. Basically, if it looks great and sounds great — Sharkus had something to do with it.
Off stage, he's known for his humor and heart, and his personal mission? To make everyone around him smile. Ask him about his favorite karaoke songs and buckle up — the stories alone are worth the price of admission.
